Campsite at Harris Beach State Park

Our rig, parked in one of the RV sites at Harris Beach State Park, Brookings, Oregon. This is a beautiful park located on a bluff overlooking the Pacific Ocean.

All of the photographs in this gallery were taken in April, 2018, at Harris Beach State Park, located in Brookings, Oregon, on the Pacific coast just north of the California border.

On the Bluff, Looking South

At the top of the bluff overlooking the Pacific ocean are a series of trails that lead down to the beach. This photo shows the view to the South. We decided to head to the right to take one of the trails to the northern beach area.

On the Bluff, Looking North

Another view of Pacific ocean and rocks on the beach as we head North toward one of the trails down to the beach.

On the North Trail to the Beach

Heading down the North trail we can see water from a large stream that empties into the ocean.

On the North Beach

Down on the beach at the edge of the stream, which is wide but not very deep. We decided to head to the left to explore that area first.

The Oregon Coast has some pretty spectacular rock formations.

Another Stream

Another much smaller stream empties into the Pacific.

Headed North

After exploring to the South we crossed the large stream and headed North. Here a large flock of Canadian Geese are also headed North.

Later That Day

Later in the day we decided to take the South trail down to beach to watch the sunset. Here is the trail as we start down from the bluff.

On the South Beach

At the bottom of the trail is a large gathering of drift wood.

Wave Breaking on the Rocks

A wave crashes over some rocks as the setting sun begins to color the sky.

This photograph became the basis for a painting that is included in a Gallery Exhibit titled SOUTHERN OREGON COAST.

Into the Setting Sun
